Comments on the 4 Introduction articles this week...All 4 articles had remarkable points about wealth differentials in the US, but the most interesting was "The Nation" article about poverty moving to the suburbs. This piece rang true. I've seen this around me but never thought about it as a new kind of poverty emerging. I also thought of suburbs as the new "company town" where people are working themselves to death for the giant corporations just to pay the mortgage and credit cards with nothing left over. And as the article notes, they are tough to motivate politically because they're just too dang tired to care. Could the falling price of technologies begin to make any difference in poverty?
